Default Fluke 87 Multimeter testing for bad coils

Hey,

I have a bad coil, and friend gave me one to use to replace the bad one (it is used, but supposed to be OK). I have a Fluke 87 multimeter, and I haven't a clue how to test the coils to see whether they are good or bad.

Any recommendations?
