Default FPR - The difference between old and new part number.

The FPR on the left was the ORIGINAL FPR pulled from my 93 UrS4 bearing p/n 078 133 534 A. Old part number, as ETKA says this part was replaced in 12/98 with...

The FPR on the right, a new one I just purchased which was listed on ETKA as 078 133 534 C (bosch # 0 280 160 575)

Both are 4.0 BAR FPRs but as you can see there is some physical difference. Audi has some obvious explanation for this... Just pointing it out. I felt compelled to double check the part number I ordered after noticing the difference.

Officially replacing this part out after 190K miles... will it ever end?!?!?!

Default PSA - use a tiny bit of motor oil on the seals when pressing the FPR in.

Notice the seal on the 534A (middle). I swapped this over from the 034 5.0bar. I damaged it (believe it or not) while removing it from the fuel rail. The base that the FPR sits in has a sharp flared edge on the inside nipple. When removing, pull straight up as much as possible.

When installing this, it can be difficult to push down if dry. Use a dab of motor oil, and it drops into place with minimal effort.

Motor oil? I would recommend either assembly lube or fuel.
