Tonight when i was on my way to drop off the gf, my coolant level light pops up and i get a CEL. IM like holy f*#k specially when my gf tells me there's smoke comming out of the engine. Lucky me i was only a block away from my house so i turned around and put the car in the garage. and turned it off. I let it cool down and filled it back up with water. I immediately noticed the leak. coolant temp sensor housing??? grrr i thought the car was doing soo well, no probs and now this. Oh well at least i found the problem. I checked autohausaz.com and they didnt have the part.4A0 819 497

Default BTDT, very common failure...

Mine broke on the way to the body shop a long time ago when I was originally gonna get my paint job done. Had to alter my plans, it sucked. I suggest these be replaced when vehicle is first purchased, along with timing belt, water pump, oil change, filters, plugs.

Default I bought one at the dealer. Wasn't too bad IIRC.

That's one part I replaced _before_ it failed...

Default Happened to me about a month ago. Make sure you replace the other

piece that attaches to the block.

Default assuming H-town = Houston

Im curious how your car runs down below sea level. I've considered driving mine down from Denver once it gets cold(well... chilly) down there to see what happens. My software was designed specifically for the climate here but swamp-grade humidity matched with the thick air from the (lack of) altitude has got to be nice.
