Further ideas for developing a Corvette coil-based HO ignition system
Based on the work of 450exc115 and lloyd21, I am really excited about this solution to the OE coils and Power Output Stages (POS).
This would be using either the
LS2 = 12573190 = D514A = Corvette coil (some epoxy on top)or the
Silverado = 12558693 = D581 (lots of epoxy on top)or the
LS2/Yukon with the heat sink on top = 10457730 = D585

The coil on the left is an LS1 D577 (or D580?) coil, the D514A (or D581) is in the middle, the D585 with the heat sink is on the right.
The pin-out for the LS2 D514A (and the D581 and D585 coils) is as follows:

The basic wiring diagram would be based on the 1.8t coil pack wiring diagrams (with modifications to the pin orders):

Based on the "LS2" pin-out and the 1.8t coil pack diagram the pin codes would be:
D = 12 V power = the same as 1.8t coil pack No.1 (power from the firewall connectors)
C = the 1 to 5 V signal from the ECU = the appropriate colour code from the ECU (using the Volvo connectors listed in the 1.8t coil pack DIY linked below), equivalent to the 1.8t coil pack pin 3.
B = POS/ignitor ground back to ECU, in this case Pin 2 on ECU connector 1, the one with a brown wire with a white stripe, equivalent to the 1.8t coil pack pin 2.
A = common ground for the coils, equivalent to pin 4 in the 1.8t coil pack diagram. (Ground to right rear corner of the cam cover).
I don't have the PNs for the GM coil connectors or the female pins or the grommets. Perhaps the leaders on this conversion, 450exc115 and lloyd21, could post these PNs up. Here is my coil and harness..

Early Disclaimer...Before (when/If) this turns into a pissing match
I do live in Northern California like 034, but am not connected with them in anyway, other than a customer. I use their HO coil as a reference because they are the only "retail" High Output maker for these cars, and when I say "look" and/or "looks" it means just that and nothing else.
This is not a defamation of them (034Motorsports) and the validity of their product, It seems all the big HP people are using their coils, so they must work.
This project is based on a alternative way of doing things. Feel free to contribute. Thanks

So is everyone going to focus on using the Yukon coil?
That seems like the logical solution. That or the LS2.
None of the other coil setups seemed worthwhile until now. I'm pretty excited about this one.
