Default Gas Prices

New to posting here, been reading the forum for a few yuears though. Question is, has anyone found a decent way to improve our gas mileage? Prices are going nuts. I have a 1994 s4 which is only chipped. Nothing big yet. LOL.

Default Yes. The UrS4 gas mileage can be increased by

switching to a diesel Jetta.

Default Accelerate quickly then maintain a constant speed and coast when ever possible

Also, skip shift when ever possible. Accelerate in 2nd and 3rd and skip directly to 5th as soon as you reach your cruising speed. I can get 25mpg in mixed city/highway driving by doing this. My normal average w/o trying too hard is 22-23mpg.

Default What about additives?

There are a bunch of additives that I have read about and heard about. Do they work? A co-worker said he uses stuff from this site. www.killgasprices.mybpi.com He tells me he gets more 380 miles per tank now where he use to get 300. I find this hard to believe.

Default There is no magic potion that will improve your gas mileage by nearly 27%

Ask your co-worker how he deterimined that he went from 300 to 380 per tank. Is that an average of several taks before and after or the difference between the tank before and the tank after the additive?

Default Third tank

He says after the third tank his car starts better and has the increase in mileage. He says he hasn't done anything else except for the usual oil changes.
