Maybe it's time to ditch our 5-cylinders and swap for the better engine like old Mercedes diesel.

These engines develops more than 400rwhp and 600 lbs/ft torque with some small mods.

Awesome power from the old diesels?

I think Audi sell more diesels in the UK than petrol cars at the moment..

We have loads of them, nearly every make and model car is available with a diesel engine..

There are significant tax advantages to the company car driver if they go for a diesel.

Diesels hold their value better than thier petrol engine counterparts, are more economical (30-60 mpg) and diesel is generally only 1p more a litre than petrol.

BP even sell 'BP Ultimate diesel' which is performance diesel!

LPG is slowly catching on too...

You know how that goes...

But hey, it's nice to think about. I would, without a doubt, buy an A6 Avant td. New engine makes almost as much hp as the V6, and has way more torque. I believe the V6 td will be the ticket. I'm excited to drive one. Plus, you could mod it, too, maybe even within the scope of AoA aftermarket if all goes well, since there's been serious talk of intercorporate aftermarketing for several years now.
