How do I eliminate the popping speaker syndrome (PSS) after new HU install?

I'm running a new Alpine CDA-9983 using the pre-outs wired to the factory speaker feeds (using the Bose amps through stock wiring.) Yes the remote amplifier turn on is being used, this does not cause the popping.
Speakers pop when turning the HU on or off, adjust volume up (off mute), adjust radio stations... anytime the radio is programmed to mute or unmute the volume it seems.
TIA
