Mann for me - Under $5.00 from FAP99. Mahle is just as good.

Default c/m filter

theres only 2 options, and i being american bred of course went with the larger of the two. no clearance problems, more surface to get a grip on and a bit more oil in the system as a bonus.

when i got mine i believe the canister was 89 or 99 dollars. could have gone up since then. filters were bought in a case that equaled about 6 bucks each. the gasket set was about $4

the gasket set has been through 4 changes and may go another. since i can take the whole thing apart at every change, a visual inspection for marring or cracks is the judge.

the filters are able to last longer tham im willing to use them. sorry, i dont remember specifics, but the ladies&gents at motorstate are quite helpful. on 2 occasions -for special cricumstance- i changed the oil and left the filter. i go by look, when the oil gets too dark, it goes out, usually around 3000...wasteful? debatable...pampered 5cyl lifeblood? no doubt

i thought the best price would be from the source, but it turns out... after many calls, that motorstate had the best pricing.

as for that amsoil filter... yeah, if i ever do go dry sump, thatll be the 'other' filter. but thats a dream at least a year away.

With this system you don't need to anymore, so they say...
