I just aquired a roll of Dynamat equivalent. Can I double this stuff up?

I used a sheet of dynomat on each door underneath the vapor barrier. I have never doubled up on using it, but i have done custom cuts where a few pieces overlap and that seems OK. As long as you have a heat gun that will guarantee it is applied right.
I then doubled up on the vapor barrier behind the door panel, the doors have less rattle/resonance when you shut them (i.e. they sound more SOLID when you shut). VERY noticable! The door cards fit really snug.
From inside, the interior sounds way more quiet, my Bose/Blaupunkt stereo sounds about the same (it never bumped anyways). The exhaust setup I have is somewhat quieter. I also used a sheet along the entire deck lid (surrounding the stock 6x9s).
I about 2 rolls if i remember correctly they were about 10 lbs each roll. Heavy stuff.

been thinking of putting some sound deadening material on the inside of the closet door and perhaps on the wall surrounding the fan to reduce the fan noise... thoughts on if this would actually work and what to use?

I replaced my stupid-loud bathroom fan with a high end new one, and it's barely audible. Depending on the CFM requirements you may be able to use a similar fan. It's a Panasonic and it cost maybe $150. Which is a lot less than it will cost to soundproof a closet...

slightly more involved I would suspect. I don't need to sound proof, just deaden the noise a few decibels... but I haven't started a search to find a quieter one, may be an option.
