Default Many of us would be suicidal if we added up all our expenses and then realized the potential return

was maybe $0.10 on the dollar.

Lesson: Never add up your bills.

Default Most people...

don't buy the car and then buy/pay for every mod at once. I usually do the rational: it is only a little more to buy the high-performance part of whatever just wore out. Or only budget one or two mods a year. Keep the car several years and it eventually gets to where you want it, but always a work in progress.

Default I aggree. Just suggesting that one should *NOT* add up the bills.

And NEVER EVER show them to the significant other.

She/he will want equal care and attention ($$$)

Default Just had positive thought: If you had invested that money in the stock market instead, by now, you

would have the same $0.10 on the dollar return but NO car to show for it.

Conclusion: We were brilliant to "invest" in our cars - at least we have the cars.

Well, of course, not everybody (Cody).

Default This is true...I would just have worthless stock..

That car sure was/is fun to this day don't regret it.

In the end it just "incented" unreasonable and sometimes semi-uncontrollable silly behavior (IMO).

\Sadly the Buell XB9SL (modded) is next

Default Absolutely.

I have a rotating slush fund for such things.

I'm all done buying performance parts. All I need now is software, and my S6 mods are done.

Well, there *is* install. But that's a whole 'nother kettle of sushi.

Still, when I add it all up mentally....
