Default it's amazing what stuck caliper guide pins can do

i changed my front pads last night and found both bottom pins to be rusted in place. Goodluck moving that caliper....

pedal feel is rock solid now.

also the pad wear was very uneven.

Default drill out the guide pins. put new ones in and lube 'em up ....

you can get new guide pins pretty easily, since they're the same ones used on the ford exploder for a couple of model years...

Default i was able to get them out, clean, polish and reuse them

they were just stuck and clearly affecting the caliper's ability to slide. it's weird that it was both bottom pins and the tops were perfect.

It won't happen again because the car is in CA now and i'm getting Brembos shortly.

Default thanks dave. i haven't heard from them at all. maybe they're hoping i wont pay

since they sold for so cheap. La Porsche Dismantler is 10 minutes from me so if it doesn't work out i'll just go there and get them for 400. They have a set of Big Reds for $600 too. I'll have brembos one way or the other within a few weeks.

Default Well, that's good. The best price before Hurricaine Katrina was ....

US$300/caliper. Once Crescent City Motors (I forgot their new name) digs out, who knows, there may be another sale: water "damaged" Brembos.
