What would YOU do? Start voting................ The car was totalled because it has paint all over it. This is rock hard paint that won't come off. It needs a full respray. Here are my choices:
1. Get it repainted and break even after my insurance check.
2. Buy a nice 93 S4 I just found that is a color I like better, a better interior, and doesn't have the broken sunroof, etc. that my car has. It has lower mileage and comes with extra wheels, H&Rs. Sell the motor, tranny, diff, springs, wheels etc. and put all my good parts into it. Sell any remaining parts from my car (door cards, window bits, etc.) and I basically have the 93 for free, plus my insurance money and have a mint car again. The beauty of this way is that I can drive the 93 while I upgrade my turbo/injectors and get my VEMS dialed in and not have too much downtime while i'm doing it. I could also do it in stages. I would have to sell my S6+ bumper though because it won't match the S4 or I could swap the rear bumper and door guards from an S6 but then i'm back getting paint done again.
3. Prep my car to be painted, dissassemble, sand, tape, bring it to be painted and save myself $2-3000 on a paint job but have some down time with no car.

coming from someone that is having body work and a respray done for the second time this year, buy back and fix.
You will know whats in it, you will have a cosmetically better car for it, and you will have your car back...
