Default limited slip/traction assist systems. HOW DOES IT WORK?

How does the traction (accelerating) system work on a 1995.5 s6 wagon. I read in the ops manual that there is a 'locker,' but I found no ****/switch/button.
So there must be some sort of automated mechanical device.

Even if there is some automation, can you still utilize the early system with a modification?

Uses the ABS system to brake wheel(s) as required. No, you can't use the "old" locking system!!

The S car changed from 3 channel abs with locking rear diff (early) to 4 channel abs without locking diff sometime in 94/95, by 1995.5 all S cars had 4 channel ABS with EDL (Electronic Differential Lock). The owners manual was slower to adapt to these changes. You cannot add a locker to the rear without disabling the EDL, though what would probably work (and some are going this route) is to put the torsen rear from the v8q into the EDL S cars. There is really no reason why this wouldn't work. Currently, EDL in the late S cars is self defeating at 40mph+. The early 3 channel cars defeat the rear locker at 15mph (which can be modified to be on all the time). The torsen rear, like the torsen center, has no external intervention properties.
