Default Locating the elusive G110 sensor..

STFA to no avail..(A6/100 forum was close...)
Bentley Manual even less help.

VAG COM gave me the following CC faults...

00799 - Coolant Temp Sensor (G110) 30-00 Open or short to B+
02173 - Fresh Air Blower (v2) 17-10 Control difference - intermittent

G110 ECT -Engine Coolant temp.

What I have gathered from the archives is that the North American cars didn't come with the G110 - so if that's the case, what is causing the CC head to not be happy?

Is there another sensor that is taking the place of G110? G62?

TIA

Default and while I'm at it, what;s the code for the sensor in the

plastic tube in one of the heater hoses - on the engine side of the firewall?

Default

That is a climate control sensor, nothing to do (directly) with the ECU (AFAIK)

Default Check out this ECU input figure. No G110. Just a G62. Was the VAGcom set up OK?

Right Dave, and that's why I'm confused...Vag com gave it as a CC (Climate Control) error.

So where is this G110?

Bueller?

Default Found it. Bentley Electrical pg.X97:Track 609,G110 A/C engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. So

then I asked KATE. She says look in A10Q, 1993, MG 8, SG 19, Illustration 819-50, Item 14. P/N = 025 906 041A. IF you are going to replace it, please buy the plastic T that it fits into (it will crumble in your hands as you remove the sensor), PN 4A0 819 497 (Item 13 in the same illustration).

G110 feeds into the E87 Climate Control Head (which is also a computer).

Good luck.

As a CC head error, you had it pegged. See above "Found it"
