Default Memory seat / central locking system reset?

So I have been fighting to get my IR key working for some time now. I posted a while back but had no luck. I have a new key, from the dealer and cut at the dealer. The programing steps work until the last step, 'hit the button and the car unlocks'. The car does not lock. And actually I only get one beep during the programing. I can not get two beeps, as if I were trying to program to memory seat position 2. The dealer guys have no clue. They thought the key had a flashlight in it. Go figure.

I am wondering if there is a way to clear or reset the memory seating or the central locking system, if it even has such a "memory". I have read that some people think that if there have been 4 keys programed, you get the problem I am having. I read somewhere else that there is a way to clear this information. I can not find either of those things now and I think the clearing thing was for non IR lock systems.

But anyway, any input?

Default what if you just disconnect the battery? Would that reset the system?

when I did my key back in June the batteries for the key were dead and I just followed the manual. However I did all of this from the driver side and I don't have sh*t from the pass side. I think you have to program both sides. I was lazy so maybe I'll try to program the pass side today.
