I may be purchasing a used MTM stage 1+ chip.
Anyone on here (Especially in the Seattle-Tacoma area) that can socket it to the ecu and upgrade the vmap? And for how much?

I think you have MAP and VMAP confused. The MAP is the manifold absolute pressure sender. The OE Bosch ones came in 250 kPa (2.5 Bar) and 300 kPa 3.0 Bar).

For the MTM Stage 1+ chip set, you need the 3.0 Bar MAP, as shown here:



A VMAP is an electronically variable MAP that typically can be set at 2.5 or 3.0 Bar and steps in between (2.6, etc)

Thank you. The guy that has it is selling it for $280 on vwvortex c4 s4 parts classefieds, and in the last e-mail told me the vmap needed to be uprgraded as well as socketing it.
So thanks for the heads up on that!
