Anyone have personal experience with the MTM stage 1/Hoppen stage 1 chips? Reliability, HP increase etc. I know there are a million old forums on the topic but I want some fresh from the oven input. Thanks guys.

PS. Is it normal for your wife to think your crazy for only wanting the best for your Urs car? Do all women not realize that they're not "just a car" or is my wife the only one? Sorry for the double negatives.

Bad advice unless you really like the feel of your rough palms. Shes a woman, so she understands it about as much as you understand her need to buy shoes that look to you just like 5 other pairs she has, lol.

I been runnin an MTM 1+ for many years and have been very happy with it, no pinging or reliability issues at all, smooth and pulls strong to redline. As far as HP, never dyno'd my car, but the difference from stock is quite noticable to say the least I have heard of is people having problems with knock off/hacked MTM chips. Got mine from Hoppen back in 2000, but Im sure you can find it cheaper somewhere else.

I went with the Stage 2 MTM from Hoppen along with the RS2 manifold and 3 bar sensor. Never had any problems. The car is docile around town, but hit the gas and it really takes off. I purchased my RS2 manifold and 3 bar sensor off Audiforums. I had Hoppen install the 3 bar sensor and MTM state 2 chip. I am very pleased with the results.
