Default my home depot intake kit. haha

well i am going to put it in tomorrow. After seeing the intake that motodyne.com offers for a whopping $190. i decided to make one. well i went down to the home depot. found a perfect rubber hose 90* with close to perfect diameter and looks to be the same material that audi used for its intake. i also got a 3" wall mount for the hose and a peace of steal with holes in it, so that i can stabilize the intake using the existing holes, and hopefully able to mount the heat shield on it. for a filter i just got a cheapo cone filter for a honda or something at pepboys, i will get a better, higher flow one from k&n in the future. i am going to put the thing together tomorrow and see how it goes. mine looks just about the same as the motodyne intake. motodyne claims a 20hp increase, i think mine will give 30hp. Hewahaha. i don't think so, but 20 would be sweet, i'll see soon enough if i can feel a difference, of course my boost leek that I may have or not have could damper the results. But I plan on fixing that in the next few weeks. i will post some pics of this monstrosity installed tomorrow.
oh! this setup cost me a astonishing $35. when i get better cone filter the cost to make one will be around $75-80. k$n filters are expensive. but this is a lot cheaper and more fun then spending a $190 on motodynes.

http://www.motodyne.com/frames/audi_s4s6.html</a

Default Couple of things.........#1, Stay Far Far away from Motodyne........

I have their intake and first of all the mounting point didn't fit. Secondly, the K&N filter they supply is way to big. Third, they're just terrible to deal with. Stay away. I've "modded" their product to fit nicely.

What you have there should work just fine, I ended up using the stock heat shield from the old airbox and it works great. I mounted it on a little aluminum subframe mounted to the frame in the engine bay.

You'll want to position the tube so the filter sits more towards the fender and down by the air tube that fed the stock box.

Now about HP, I don't think you'll gain anywhere near 20, maybe 2 but the sound might make you smile. It's loud, especially under higher boost.

Enjoy and congrats on some quaility engineering.

Default Sorry, but open air filters do not offer any real HP gains.

Turbo cars injest air at such a rapid that that haveing no filter at all will almost offer no gain.

The only performance gain is had when building a system that will have more cold air redily available. Hap McGuire has a very good ram-air type system. His user name here is "urs4guy" look in his pics poster.

Default Last night?

Last nite she said
Oh baby I feel so down
When you turn me off
When I feel left out
So I, I turned round
Oh baby don't care no more
I know this for sure
I'm walking out that door

Well I've been in town for just about fifteen minutes now
And baby I feel so down
And I don't know why
I've been walking for miles

And people they don't understand
Your girlfriends they can't understand
Your grandsons they won't understand
On top of this I ain't ever gonna understand

Last nite she said
Oh baby don't feel so down
When you turn me off
When I feel left out
So I, I turned round,
Oh baby gonna be alright
It was a great big lie
Coz I left that night
Yeah

Oh people they don't understand
No girlfriends they don't understand
In spaceships they won't understand
And me I ain't ever gonna understand

Last nite she said
Oh baby I feel so down
She could turn me off
When I feel left out
So I turned round
Oh little girl I don't care no more
I know it's for sure
I'm walking out that door, yeah
