I have changed one coil after a few problems; my mechanic suggests to change all 5.

I am thinking of this one:

Anyone using this plugnplay-kit?
Shipping and taxes in to Norway is on top; but even then a lot cheaper than 5 new original coils.

If you are running above RS2 levels then the 034Motorsport High output coils are likely a good deal (at about twice the cost of the 1.8t coil pack conversion and 2/3's the cost of a complete OE replacement (coils and POSs).

Replace with 5 stock ones and be good for another 150,000 miles or more.

but I do agree with sticking with original is the best. Out of the ten coils in my two cars, only one is not original. 115k and 85k miles. =)

I have less insight in the ignition system, and have a qualified audi-mechtech looking into it. We replaced one coil, (failure).

The initial problem was engine stall at ca 3500 rpms. It felt like the gas flow was "turned off". Long story short: Checked fuelpump++, and needed more help.
One coil replaced, still problems. Compression, injectors ++ were tested, we found that the car was getting to little gas, the injectors were tested, and suggested replaced. I bought a RS2 setup last fall , and had the RS2 injectors installed; engine remapped. Great response; but after a dyno run, all power dropped out. More testing, and we found that we needed to change another coil.

So; conclution;
Need new coils. I`ll check up on the $$ , let you know what prices were talking about

Hopefully I know the mechanic who helps me, but this will still cost me big time, since I am almost lost when coming to electronics. Quite embarrassed in fact.

I have RS2 EM and turbo laying around, but havent decided on which exhaust solution; guess it`ll be installed in a couple of months.

you don't need to do the exhaust even at RS2 levels if you do the RS2 EM and turbo. You might want to for looks and sound reasons but it doesn't add a significant amount of horsepower.
