Default newbie with HID trouble!

So here is the deal: I receive the 35W HID kit from ddm tuning, I install it according to the instruction on their site.. yes yes I follow instructions (newbie remember). I haven't disabled DRLs yet cuz I couldn't find the damned module under the pedal cluster. So I tried to test out the HIDs with the lights fully turned on and they won't turn on, the autocheck is showing bulb out. When the autocheck shows bulb out, does it kill the current to the lights? I basically have not seen these things turn on at all yet.

Anyone know what I can do? Do I need that error code eliminator from ddm?

thanx in advance

Check that you don't have the power plug turned 180 deg. (Seems to me that was an issue with the instructions IIRC)

no I plugged it in correctly so that it snaps with the plastic retainers. Its driving me crazy!! its all plugged in correctly from what i can tell. Do you think i may need those "eliminators" from ddm, or could the ballasts or bulbs be bad?

i'm gonna keep trying.. thanx

Okay let me try again: could it be the power wires are reversed?

And the bulb out warning does NOT prevent the bulbs from coming on. That would just be dumb. It's a warning. You at least have to get power to your balast properly.

Search for previous ballast power polarity issues.

I bet it's plugged in upside down... mine was even though I was SURE it wasn't... it was. flip em. takes 5 seconds and will let you know if it's fixed

well i'll b a newbie! they were reversed... why is it that the connector has to be reversed for correct polarity... the little plastic clip that holds the two in place is on the wrong side!

thats why i was sure they were correctly inserted.. guess not.

thanx for the help lads.
