I was thinking a shallow, short and very wide liquid filled radiator. Then a pre-TB liquid/air intercooler. I'm pretty sure such things are available.
The packaging would be simple when you use liquid as the heat-transfer medium. Not only that, but the intake volume could be reduced, and made much more in metal. The radiator portion of the cooler could be really small, and still be damn efficient.
Of course, there is the added mass, the circulating pump, and the coolant holding tank. But damn, it would be sweet. If I had a couple grand to sink into R&D, I'd do it. But seriously, I bet the Europeans have figured SOMETHING out.

The Euro bumper would require some thought, planning and packaging.
The American bumper requires some purchasing.
I think Spearco makes the liquid->air core from the pre-TB location.
