Default only thing in my pockets is

Lint... I have to many hobbies that demand money..

Hate to say it but most of my money goes into racing off road motorcycles.

The rest gets spread between the Audi and other various toys (pit bike, snowmobile, tools, etc)

Default No problem

power, 2 grounds and a trigger. All weather connectors, built to be near heat, and proven to deal with a turbo enviroment..

Default Just like the 1.8t. Sounds like EVO coils. Whatever. Follow my wiring diagram for the feeds and

figure out the appropriate coil pack inputs. Should be basically the same as the 1.8t coil pack DIY.

Default Nah, the only DSM part I would put on my car

would be a turbo as some of the maps are pretty good.

Definitly going to follow your 1.8 write up as I was stairing at it off and on all day today....

Please understand I'm not being vague due to it being a big deal, just would rather try it out get the harness wired and the coils layed out before posting so a bunch of folks don't go out and buy something that doesn't work.. I have no reason to sell any of it as it would be yet another cool DYI option that is inexpensive for the masses..

Default If you can find coils more robust than the VAG ones,then...

...finally the 1.8T coil conversion will make sense from a standpoint of OEM longevity AND money savings.

I have always been dismayed by the crap coils VAG put out after the UrS cars. Even before I know UrS cars existed. Now, you'll really be a hero if you can find a way to make your coils work with existing harnesses.

Default Existing harnesses should work. Final coil pack connectors likely different = push pins out, reinsta

ll in the new connector. At least that would be the easiest "swap".

It's going to be about how much better (if any) are these other "secret" coil packs.

Default Hmm that is a possiblity

But I was hoping to not have to touch my OEM stuff and just put it on the shelf for "just in case"

I've seen dyno plots of a turbo charged 3 something liter v6 getting in the 600 HP range using these coils.

Just out of curiosity what voltage is the output on our ECUs to the POS? I vaguely rememeber reading some were that it is 5 volts.
