Pic request: 18X8.5 ET35 wheels on a lowered Ur.

When I mount the wheels on my car they look like they stick out too far.. what am I missing? Anyone besides Mini run this size wheel?

My 18's are 35 but they don't stick out. I wish they actually came out more.
