Start a new thread. I don't tell anybody to search anymore (it sucks unless you use Google and "the thing" site:forumes.audiworld.com/s4s6/.

The key is search, you find this thread, see it is 2 years old, find maybe a few other threads and post a NEW thread and say

"Hey guys, I was looking to do an iPod install in my car.

I found these threads

link 1

link 2

etc

However, there are some details missing, can anyone fill in the blanks..."

All my point has been in the past is a lot of questions have been answered, sometimes it's only partially but it is a good starting point. I still think searching works just fine on the site, the "Google Method" is a bit more accurate, it's really a matter of what you find is best.

These cars are old, and technology is great, making the two mesh can be a nightmare. However, with time and perseverance and some money you can accomplish what you want to do.

I just don't want to take the time searching for these threads on your behalf.

Hell I have been chastised for searching finding answers and asking questions to fill in the blanks. I guess not everyone will be happy either way.

That makes sense, but it seems better to have all the info in one thread though, instead of having to hop around. >shrug<

If you follow the suggestion and did a little work, it *would* be all in one thread. Provided you didn't allow your thread to go offtopic like has happened in the past, it would become a valuable resource, worthy of a link from the FAQ.

As a former DB administrator... I would HATE if you did that.
but based on the way this forum works now (with some people on linear, some on threaded) it's not a bad idea.
