Default Stop! Stop! Stop!

Today is January 9. The next track event isn't for at least two or three months here in the northeast. Stop!!

And don't tell me not to click them. I *must* click each and every post that has a picture.

Damn, I miss the track.

Default NEQ Winter Driving School 1 was just cancelled/postponed.

The funny thing is that last weekend would have been a beautiful track day anywhere in the northeast...but all tracks are closed for winter.

Default Race cars have lower steering ratios

... so often, in road cars you need to grab some extra lock where you might not need to in a race car.

Default FYI...

BMW Boston club usually holds some Ice events, though I doubt it this year. Spectated one last year on Newfound Lake.

Default If you watch the movie "Grand Prix"

you'll see that in the first race for the hairpin, he crosses his arms when he makes the turn. Actually he just puts his thums under the 'spokes' of the steering wheel, and just rotates it like that...

I realize it's just a movie, but I figure there would be at least some truth behind it...

Default at ACNA event at Road America 05, they stressed to never cross your arms

always hold on at 3 and 9 o'clock

it is difficcult, but I think it also effects your entrance into a corner and how you handle the turn, to me it feels more secure

Default Check it out, here's a vid where Tiff gives the advice to cross your arms...

He's in an Audi S3 too.<ul><li><a href="http://www.motorauthority.com/news/videos/tiff-needells-driving-tips/">Tiff Needell's Driving Tips</a></li></ul>
