Rattle in strut bearings?

Back in January I changed the struts along with all of the joints and bushings on the front end.
There is a rattle everytime I hit a bump on the right front side.
I did not change the strut bearings at the time.
What are symptoms of a bad strut bearing? I have looked everything over once again and everything I replaced is tight.
TIA

The ripped part of the mount is under the large washer in the center of the mount. You can remove this nut and washer with the car on the ground w/o messing up the alignment.

most symptoms seem to be a clunk noise when turning the wheel to one side or the other.
I could not find any reference to a rattle.
So I can see the failed bearing if that is the case by removing the top nut?

To see the bearing you need to remove the upper strut plate. It is possible to get this out w/o removing the strut assembly. Search the archive for the procedure.
