did it on minie a while back, thought i'd share
saves you $$$ for new wiper arms.
Problem: wipers streaking, not wiping right, lifting off the glass at high speed
Fact: wiper springs are stretched, not enough tension is applied on the wiper arms and from there to the wiper blade
Solution: take the wipers off, take the arms off, take the springs off.
Bend both ends ofthe springs like the image below.

Caution: it will be a major pain in the a$$ to reinstall the springs because they are now shorter then before and helluva tighter.
Curse, kick the tires, screaming helps as well, reinstall the wiper arms, wiper blades and enjoy.
Your wipers work as they should.
You're wellcome.

P.S.- Don't keep your wipers in the upright position, that is the major cause of the springs stretching....leave them down on the glass all the time.
When you replace the blades do the same, lift but not fully up, disconnect the blade and rest the arm back down on the glass. Get the new blade, lift the arm(not fully), install the blade and leave it down on the glass again.
It's not a bix pain in the *** to do it and your wipers will work as they should for a long period of time.
Mine do.

I finally ran a ziptie through the coils and pulled it tight. Did the trick and I didn't have to monkey with trying to get the springs on/off.

I observed that wiping quality is pretty much dependent on the wipers. Had Bosch Aerotwin (frameless) which worked very well till they were completely worn out. Then switched to the frameless Michelin RADIUS and had problems. The Michelin wipers smeared where they were attached to the hook of the wiper arm. Isuue was observed on the driver as well as on the passenger side. Brought them back to WalMart and got another pair of Michelin Radius as replacement. Same problem.
Now switched back to Bosch and everything is clear again.
Wrote an email to Michelinwipers.com (actually Michelin only gives their name. The wipers are are produced by Pylon which licensed the wiper rubber from DuPont, they only use the Michelin man for marketing purposes, Michelin has nothing to do with it) and asked for a refund or a hint to fix the problem. Never got a response. I stay away from them for now.
