Paul: That ball joint is Fubar'd anyway. If a proper ball joint clamp-type extractor won't fit, then a pickle fork and a BFH will hopefully do the job. You might want to spray the nut, etc. with copious amounts of "LiquidWrench" or "Nuts-off" etc (not sure of UK brands) first.
