Default Recommendations for cheap, dependable auto transport from CA to IL?

I'll be moving from San Francisco to Chicago in a month, and I'm trying to decide between driving the S4 myself and having it transported. With the cost of gas these days, it's a wash right now.

Anyone have a good, inexpensive auto transporter (company or individual) they can recommend? I'm shooting for $800 or so.

Thanks!

Default I've heard Horseless Carriage is the absolute best.

Default Well, yes and no.

I did have the S4 shipped from New Mexico, but the price was right - $750 door to door from a small indy.

The S6 came from Los Angelos, and it was half shipped, half driven; the seller drove it to the terminal in LA and I drove it home from the New Jersey (total cost $400 through DAS.

A few years back I delivered a car to Portland, OR from CT. I drove that one.

To go from San Fran to Chicago is not that bad of a drive. Better to drive and avoid the risk of shipping damage.

My little joke, since the car is RS2'd. Figured that'd make it an UrRS4. :-)
