trans bolts right up. you don't use the large aluminum spacer that the 2.7Ts require, and therefore you use the stock urS bolts as well...you also have to bolt on the "legs" from the stock trans if the new one didn't include them, and swap over the procon-ten bracket (if your car is older than '95).

I ditched the procon ten setup as Audi themselves stopped using it down the road anyway.

not so much. It was a good idea, using the thrust of the engine being pushed back in a frontal collision to pull the steering column forward, away from the driver.

collar had to be produced, it doesn't look nice
but we didn't have much time for it and unless
you go under the car it's invisible

This is the email I sent them with some questions about their products.

Advanced Automotion,
I own a 94 S4 and am going to be in the market for a replacement transmission, most likely in the spring of 09. First gear in my car is making some whining noise and from what I have read that "can" mean it's time for a replacement. Gears 2-5 & Reverse are strong and quiet and there are no problems shifting in or out of any gears including 1st. As I understand it, my options are a used or rebuilt 5 spd or 6 spd. I looked through your sight and saw the 6 spd Quattro transmission for $2k and I have a few questions;
Is this a bolt in option?
Do I have to do any modifications to move the PROCON TEN bracket over to it?
Will the guide pins and bolts for the bell housing be the same?
Is there anything else I would need to buy to install this? I have a clutch and flywheel already.
And if I were to get this, what types of cost should I expect for freight to send the core back to you.
Now alternatively, do you sell rebuilt 01E 5 spd transmissions? I have also read about the small and large 1st gears and a shaft that flexes vs not, on these transmissions. If you do sell them, what do they have as far as the 1st gear and shaft type? My car is not modified at all and I am happy with my 5 speed other than the noise. I am honestly not sure what the benefits are besides performance gains. Any insight would be appreciated, what would you recommend?
Sorry for the long email and thank you for your time.

Chris,
The basic transmission is a 00-02 6 speed and although it will fit on a 5 cylinder engine not all the holes line up and you have to remove one dowel pin. This transmission also lacks the procon 10 mounting points.
I can build up a 5 speed to 6 speed specs using a 5 cylinder case for a little additional cost which would include the procon 10 mounting points.
A rebuilt 5 speed with wide first will cost as much as a 6 speed or possibly more, depending upon if I have to source the wide 1st gear parts.
I do not build up small first gear transmissions for obvious reasons.
You have likely pitted the first gear on your existing transmission.
The only transmissions that have the hardened and flexible shafts are the diesel, RS2, and V8 transmissions. I can add this at an additional cost, or it comes standard on the TDI transmissions I offer.
Freight one way either to me or from me is around 200 bucks. The only exception is the North East where it can be closer to 300 dollars.
