I am in Fallston MD. Timing belt broke. I stopped at a rest stop, got gas, started the car back up and it shut off before I could put it in gear and would not start again. Pushed it into a spot and started troubleshooting.... Timing belt is snapped. This was at BIG rest area, WITH a Starbucks and they had NO internet access. So with the good old fashioned yellow pages and a map I found a local towing company and a near by German car specialist and had the car towed there ($100). The company is called Autowerkes. They were/are not open since it's Sunday. I am going to go early in the morning and explain and hope they have a belt (doubtful) otherwise I'll have one shipped next day here.
These are the some PISSED Audi gods and I guess it's my fault. Previously I changed the timing belt but not the water pump and the pump died shortly after, now it's the other way around, I just did the pump and the belt snapped. That belt was not that old and looked perfectly fine. I am kind of puzzled. Karma I guess.
If anyone knows any parts places in the area that may have a T belt, please let me know. Thanks guys.

the starter has more torque then your engine....pistons went up....valves stayed still...i don't think it's possible not to bend anything
best of luck to you and i really hope nothing's bent
good luck
