Default If you are installing this a C4 chassis, you do not need the RS2 axels or mounts

Since they would be for a B3 or B4 chassis. Not sure about the linkage, probably just shift it over from the AAN trans.

Default Better leanve it for someone looking to convert their B3.

That is a nice package for someone with a 90 or CQ. They can use it all, whereas you can't. I would hold off until you found a reasonably priced 01E with a strengthened 1st gear.

What would be the advantage of a rs2 trans over, say, a 01E from a B5 S4?

That was the website I was thinking of.

Sooooo to answer my question, not much.

5th and 6th gear ratios are different, and they both have wide 1st gears.

Not just wide(r). The RS2 1st gear shaft is necked down a bit to allow for some initial twist when the power is applied "dramatically". This takes some of the stress off the face of the 1st gear teeth = probably better than the B5 S4 tranny. However, that would be if they were both new. By this time, both the RS2 trannies and the older B5 S4 trannies have likely been abused at some point in their lives.
