Default Good for you.

Not the most economical, but the only way to do HID safely/responsibly, IMO.

Default Re: Where on the LKM does the black wire go?

I thought about this a while ago, The way the lkm works is through a comparator. The zero-ohm jumper has a slight potential difference across it which is directly proportional to the current running through it. Therefore, when the bulb is drawing current, the comparator is on, when the bulb is out, there is no current passing through the wire and both ends are at the same voltage so the comparator is turned off. Measure the two links . One end will have a slightly lower voltage than the other (by only about 1/10 of a volt). Cut the link and connect the sense wire to the end of the link that measured lower. This way when the bulb does not ignite, 12 volts will appear at both ends(so in effect, you have simulated no current passing through the link). You will also have to bypass the 12 volts to the pin that the lower voltage end of the link goes to so the switched voltage gets to the yellow wire.
Essentially, follow the Urs4 procedure for the LKM mod and add the black wire to the lower voltage end of the zero-ohm jumper

Default This is what I'm proposing...

Default This is what I did...see wiring diagram

I ended up cutting the wires to the terminal and spliced them together with a butt connector. The light out symbol is now out becasue the LKM thinks the lights are off.

I haven't tried to figure out how to conenct the black sense wires, and have decided not to risk it and leave them un-connected. I figure I will be able to tell if one of the headlights burns out.
