is it safe to assume my seat heater unit is not working if i know my switches are working properly..

anywho, find out which heater it is with the broken/damaged wire, then take apart that part of the seat and hope you luck out! if you do luck out (like me) then you can solder the wire back together (std. 16g), but if you don't, then you can still repair the element for free by binding it back together then heatshrinking it (and I guess you can solder it as above, though this is really really fine wire). If you buy the new element, don't remove it from it's packaging until you have the seat apart - otherwise you can't return it. I for sure wouldn't buy a used element either... those wires will get hot spots just as fast as your old one.
While you're in there, try and evenly space the wires as best as possible so no further hot spots occur again in the near future.
