Well, if you are going to let this little connector defeat you, perhaps you are beyond help. : - ) Just buy the
sensor now and remove the sensor with a wrench and then work on the connector. I agree you want to be
careful and not break it. It is probably full of corrosion and needs back and forth action to get it loose.

Dude if you are ever stuck in any kind of traffic you will want that fan to come on. You could wire a temporary switch (on/off) just in case. Your car will overheat faster than you think. If the ambient temp doesnt get above 30 you might be ok, but i doubt that will happen unless you live in Nunavut. My 2c

I've been defeated by microscopic things only to come back and win in the end. I sure hope I can handle this.

I probably will just end up ordering the switch, but it's always nice to test a theory.

So since this sucker, the fan switch that is, happens to be on the radiator, am I going to have to drain the coolant to replace the switch?

the hole. You would like time to investigate if any gelled crud is built up in the lower radiator isolating the
coolant from the sensor, so placing a hose on the drain nipple on the right side of the radiator would allow you
to collect clean coolant for re-use, You want to use a sealing washer on the switch, so you need the old one if
you didn't buy a new one.

New switches appear to come with a new sealing washer thankfully. I would hate to re-use the old one. I probably wont be sticking my finger in anything. I'll plan on capturing the coolant and hopefully reusing it.
Thanks!
Thanks!
