slight RPM-proportional ticking noise when car is cold. what to check?

Default Yes as I recall...
Thought it was my oil level then during a dyno run one the fellow Audi guys noticed it. Tightened it up and it was gone.

Default when was the last oil change...
my 4kq used to tick when the oil was starting to break down after beating on her for awhile. A simple oil change used to cure it.
