Default smog braintrust: what would cause high hydrocarbons at idle?

i've changed my oil. that dropped them from 127 to 114.

this morning i replaced my O2 sensor. it still failed, but i dont know by how much, since i told the guy to abort the test after the first failure...didnt want to waste the guy's time.

my mechanic suggested resetting the ECU and making it relearn everything.

any other ideas?

Default I replaced my spark plugs and then got the motor nice and warm when I had that issue.

It passed fine the second time around.
