Default so i finally got it cert. and emissions tested...then KABOOM...

i finally got a rear tail light so i could get it certified(thanks to the dude parting out on the 100 forum for quick shipping)! horay...for now.

i pick it up from the mech to take it to get the emmisions tested and the clutch is on the floor...still works but i have to pull it up manually...not good but not the end of the world.

i drive to the e-test place...it passes...so far so good.

while i am wating on the e-test i notice this big puddle of fluid on the ground where i had pushed the clutch in and had not immediately pulled it back up... this was followed by a trail of fluid to where i parked.
it didn't leak any more fluid while it was parked awaiting the e-test.

i pulled the car out of the garage and parked it(still running)and opened the hood...coolent everywhere! the motor was incredibly hot and felt like it was 10 seconds away from melting!
and then to top it all off the power steering was making some noise when i was backing out of the garage!!!

i was less than enthused.

so...if you have any suggestions as to what is going on that would be appreciated(and $$$ estimations)

i have a coolent leak somewhere...plus a blockage it would seem.(i had my mech look at the t-stat and it would seem that he perhaps put some air in the line for fun?)

my clutch is messed up

perhaps i am having a power steering issues

i must be the luckiest man alive!!

thanks in advance

Check fan switch, replace clutch slave, check PS fluid level.

Default check the plastic coolant connector on the back of the block, just below the head...

you can see it clearly from the passenger side of the car, pretty notorious for coolant leaks

Default i hate to suggest this...

but if there's coolant "everywhere" with no obvious leak...you may be looking at the problem i had -- a blown head gasket.

hope that's not the case though

My question is... Didn't you see smoke and shut the car off so it wouldn't get so hot?
