While vaccuming out the car, noticed (again) that the carpet was cut. So pulled the ECU and removed the cover. I did not separate the two halves of the ECU as I could see the markings on the chip, plus afraid I might break something.
Chips are socketed and zip-tied to the board. They both have small labels on the chip, info looks like written with a felt tip marker. The chip on the side with the transducer is marked: LS4- P294 and the other one is LS4- E291. The "LS4-" is on one line and the second part underneath on both chips. I could not see the top of the transducer to try to see if that was changed or not.
Also noticed that the speed limiter was removed.

MAP pressure transducer. Here's how:
1. with the cover off, at the ribbon cable end, pop the two post connectors open (don't worry just pull straight up, holding the bottom board).
2. Now push the third "middle" pin (about 1.5" from the ribbon) through the top board.
3. Use toothpicks to pry open the two tangs on either side of the three rows of pins.
4. Turn the unit so the unit is vertical, with the ribbon cable end at your chest and the pin end is away from you.
5. With the ribbon cable end at your chest, use your right hand to gently pull "down" (to the right) on the "top" (left now) row of pins while you use your left hand to "lift" and pull the top board away from the pin end.
6. Pull the top board pins away from the pin connector end and the unit should open like a book.
Observe and report.

My car came with those chips also.
I asked on the s-car-list a while back and got these responses:
Feico van der Laan says:
Lehman 2.5 bar Stage 1 chips (Hoppen Stage 1 pre 1999). MTM 1+ will be a lot more aggressive!
Ned Ritchie says:
LS4-EZ91
Lehmann upgrade to 1 267 357 391 fuel/timing chip
LS4-P294
Lehmann upgrade to 1 267 357 394 boost chip
I say:
MTM 1+ (what I have now) is definitely more aggressive. The Lehmann chips are very smooth, and I (and probably you as well) thought they were the stock programming. They do drive nicer than the 1+, but are not nearly as fast.

I will not be able to check the transducer until next weekend at the earliest.
Yes, Kevin I though it was stock. Never driven another ur-S4/6 but mine.

Of course it doesn't help when the previous owner states that it is stock except the wheels.
So far found in the year and a half I have had the car I found out I have: Koni shocks (stock springs), RS2 exhaust manifold, the chips, speed limiter removed and 2W dash bulbs.

I was told by the second owner that the car was stock, but mine had Lehmann stage 1 and an RS2 exhaust manifold also. I'll find out what the shocks are soon, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were (aging) Konis.
To be fair to the guy I bought it from, he only had it for a few months, and bought it from a dealer.

Was told it was stock besides a chip, besides the RS2 turbo and manifold it was. Original owner had it for a year (did all the work), then an older guy I work with bought it and owned it up until last year. He had no idea.
I also have that lehmann chip, very conservative, but smooth. next mod is the RS2 chip and injectors.
