Default Spring binding problem with new H&Rs

One of our Vancouver club members had new H&R springs, Bilstein shocks and strut bearings installed a few weeks ago. His car was in the shop for a while with "no oil pressure" problem (turned out to be a clogged passage to the oil pressure sender). Anyway, now that he has his car back, he is complaining that the right front H&R spring is binding during a turn and then releasing with a "BANG". Naturally, this is annoying.

I know new strut bearings were installed but there still could be an issue with them. Or is it something with the H&R spring design.

I thought there were some BTDTs but nothing showed up when I searched the archives on "spring binding" and "spring wind-up".

Anybody have a solution?

Default Only time I've seen that is when the spring isn't correctly installed.

If it's not seated properly it will tend to turn and bind independent of the strut, which will cause the bang. I'd take it back to whoever did the work and have them go over it.

Default Bad strut bearings will make a grinding sound. Sounds to me like

the coil spring is not seated properly in the strut, or maybe the shop forgot to put the rubber dampening ring back in.

bearing could be bad or missing after the install.
