Stage 1 upgrades...

Can those of you who are running stage 1 chips in your cars tell me how many PSI you are boosting?
I recently did a chip with Northern European Automotive in concord, NH. They seem to have a good rep for knowing the Original S cars and have been excellent fixing our A8.
However they claimed around 18 Psi on their stage 1, (Similar to MTM and others I thought?)
But I am only seeing 15. They can't seem to tell me why and say maybe hoses, but none of them are leaking.
Are other people seeing 18 pounds with just a chip done?
Thanks,
Evan

did you also get the 3 bar transducer upgrade with their chip? the 92 stock gauge reads lower than what is actually produced on my MTM 1+ due to this. I may be wrong, but I believe mine with the 3 bar transducer is going to read 20% lower than actual(according to the values I saw on urs4.com Bosch 0.273.003.210 (250 kPa) vs.
Bosch 0.273.003.211 (300 Kpa). Still not sure if this follows without knowing if your gauge's readings wouldn't even be affected by this like the 92 stock one is (is your gauge plumbed in before the transducer?).

Car is a 93, with an aftermarket boost gauge. I've tried a couple gauges so I know that's not the issue.
I do have the new transducer. They swore that wasn't the issue. They are telling me it's cause my hoses are old and "expand" but that doesn't make sense to me. If they expand it should just affect spool time. I don't see how boost would actually be lost without a leak.
Should I waste the few hundred and do the Samco hoses? Is this a worthwhile mod anyways?

I have the full set of samcos and a TT 225 Diverter valve. I wouldn't think the new hoses would improve the performance, but it's likely you will blow one of the stock ones at some point since your car is now chipped.

Sounds backwards but the car will increase boost on HOT days and decrease on COLD. Any thing below 40° or so basically is reduced...from what I have noticed and read.
