Stasis High Bias Torsen Center Differential Review...

I just recently installed a Stasis 4:1 Torsen center differential in my newly acquired '01 S4 Avant. Extremely easy to install, not expensive in the slightest in the grand scheme of mods and man this car sticks like it grew super glue tires. I could easily get the S4 Avant to tail out from a stop or in 2nd gear with steering input, but for the life of me in the rain two nights ago I couldn't get the car to do this anymore. The 4:1 Torsen center is amazing, instantaneous transfer to the front when I prompted the wheel spin in the rear, car just pulls right through the corner and exit. I was almost dead amazed and the difference, I cannot get the any tires to lose traction on throttle, even in the slick California tarmac jungle. So I got curious, would this fit an S4/6 5 speed, sure enough it is a bolt-in piece for the 01E 5 speed, bolt in and literally takes about 3 hours! If you have a higher bhp S4/6 I really have to recommend this as an upgrade. If you already have a V8 Torsen in the rear I can only imagine what a high bias could do for you on the track. My S4 Avant is begging for more power after this. I never knew you could make a Torsen car behave like this. So if you are interested please give Stasis a buzz. They are amazingly technically proficient folks, also have their 14" Alcon brakes (nothing short of amazing), and what can I say, great people too!

does it require dropping the trans? i already have a v8 torsen and though i don't have high hp, i think it will still be fun.

i'd imagine the torsen unit is at the back of our trans like it is in the B6 A4 used in the pictures. The front of the rear driveshaft has to be dropped, which iirc, means dropping the exhaust on our cars.

it must be less than $500, but for the price, there's not point doing all the R&D myself
