Just because a parts supplier refers to it incorrectly does not mean it is so. I believe the Bentley uses the Audi diagrams and manuals for their reference (correct me if I'm wrong)

PS: it's spelled "ignorant"

BTW, I want you to understand that proper terminology is a huge point of contention for me. I come from 8 years maintenance background on CF-18's and another 10 of electronics maintenance. Knowing the exact piece and what it is called is critically important in the aircraft world. Maybe not as much in the automotive world, but the first step to a screw-up is miscommunication.
So, not trying to be an azz, just exercising a particular pet peeve of mine....sorry if I offended.

Default Okay, you are right, I am wrong. Kate says "timing chain" for the cams. See inside

Much to my surprise. Apologies to you.

The "timing belt" by the way, is just called a "toothed belt".

Well I guess everybody was right (both "timing chain" and "drive chain" are used interchangeably).

I understand, but Timing Chain is more correct than drive chain. Go to your local Audi dealer and tell them you need a drive chain, for your car and they will tell that it is not AVAILABLE for that specific motor. It does say drive chain in Bentley, which is also correct.

Logically timing chain dose not make one bit of sence to me either, but it is what it is. I know on my A6 they are called Cam Chain's but AAN is different. Whatever I just dont like when people try to make me sound stupid.

Wasn't my intention to make you sound stupid, but I was tired yesterday and after re-reading my original post I can see how it may have been taken that way....my apologies.
