Default Tips for making an intercooler kit

Has anyone on here fabbed up their own intercooler kit? I found a Garrett IC assembly from 034 that is $500 and has the same dimensions as the core Apikol uses (except it's 3" thick, not 3.5"). I'm thinking I can get all the piping I need and have someone weld it for me, and it will be a lot cheaper than the Apikol kit. If anyone has done this, can you give me an idea of what bends I would need? It seems like the piping for the Apikol kit is fairly minimal. I would love to just buy the kit, but $1350 is pretty insane IMO.

Garrett IC

3" thick is plenty. There was an IC for sale not long ago though, IIRC. Can't recall where.

Default Treadstone TR-8 intercooler is priced nicely and known to work well with the UrS4/6's

So the Samco's are used with intercooler kits? I figured it would replace all that.

Default The Turbo to x-over hose and intercooler to TB hoses are used, but not the michelin man hose

Essentially the fmic replaces the x-over pipe, michelin man hose and stock intercooler.
