Default Value of Canada-spec 2002 A6 2.7tt

A friend of mine has a 2002 A6 2.7tt tip which is coming off lease. It has 75,000 km on it has has an extended warranty until May 08. Dealer serviced, excellent condition.

The buy out is $18.9K, I think its worth more than that on the private market, perhaps $23K.

He is sitting on the fence on whether he wants to keep it. I think he should buy it out regardless and sell it if he decides he doesn't want it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Default If he could actually get $23k for it he would be smart to buy it, but...

On what are you basing that value? $23k seems very optimistic $20k seems to be the high end at KBB and NADA.

Not sure what the used car market is like in your area, but here in MI you'd have a hard time getting $17k for that car.

Default Thanks. In Canada, especially Vancouver, prices are very high compared

to the US market. That's what makes it so attractive for us Canucks to import cars from the US.

Probably because our cars see virtually no salt, they can last 10 to 15 yrs longer.

Default I think most motorists are afraid of used Audis and with good reason.

Although 23.5K sounds like a great price for that much car I think one could sit on a car like that for a long time trying to sell it for 23.5k. Look on Ebay, there are a bunch of 2004's for well under 20k. I rememmber when I was looking for Stephs Avant I was considering buying a 2002 Avant and there were really nice ones that sat for a long long time on Ebay never selling and they were way less than 20k a year ago.

Default $18.9 is what it's worth on the market too

A6 being a very nice car, is pretty undesirable. I see V6 versions with 160K kms go as low as $11K here. Craigslist has several for 13-15

Default Especially a 2.7tt.

With some sort of extended warranty, I wouldn't touch it.

Default My clueless friend was asking me about a 2000 S4 last night. His "friend" wanted to sell it to him.

Chipped on K03's from day 1. Hmmmm......
