Default looks like the word bearing to me... but for the whole assembly

the answer is no. There is no aftermarket source. Only places that sell dealer only parts will have it. The whole assembly is called the serpentine belt tensioner.

Default Yes, used from places such as www.shokan.com or www.force5auto.com

Or the evil arm of the mega salvage parts conglomerate know as Ronco Cordova, Dad's Audi Parts, http://www.dadsauto.com/

Default are you saying i'm not fat enough to press this in by hand?

thanks

i'm thinking i'll see how much my friend can get the whole assembly for...he can get this stuff at dealer cost. if it's <$150, i'll bite the bullet and save myself some trouble.

Default My jobber cost was $176.00.

I replaced just the bearing but it started to make a little noise later due to the spring being worn and the assembly bouncing a bit. I think the Skolnick bearing replacement procedure is a good one. It just did not work real well in my case. List price was $220.00, one dealer quoted $270.00 list, FYI.

Default Just to give credit where it's due. Fred Munro came up with the procedure.

I just posted it.
