Default Weird Stains on my Rims

Recently Ive noticed that my A8 rims have a drip-like staining on them. Some rims are worse than others and one of them doesn't have any. It seems like its some kind of chemical stain. Does anybody know anything that would get rid of this?

Also, Its mostly on the chrome surface but there is also a bit on the non-chrome parts

Default do you take the car through automatic car washes?

it's probably etching from the wheel cleaning acid

Default Those are polished aluminum...it's either in the clear coat or in the finish itself...

...if you can't buff out the imperfections you'd probably need to strip the clear, polish the metal, and then re-apply the clear.

Default I don't know, I'd DIY. If you polish them and use Mother's Mag & Aluminum...

...every few washes it'll keep them a lot more shiny clearcoat. Without the clear on them you can easily get them to a mirror finish if you polish them long enough.

If you search for my post on refinishing the lips on the Fuchs you'd use the same stuff to strip/repolish - just the whole wheel instead of a lip! ;o)
