Well, I've been tuning my B5 for a while now, and am pretty knowledgable in that aspect. But now I've got a C4 with 166xxx miles, and am looking into maybe adding some fun to it. It's going to be mainly my Colorado winter car, but it would obviously more fun with more power. It's kind of like this equation:
more power= more fun
Anyways, I've heard RS2 parts are a good path (forum searching). But more specifically, whats the best bang for your buck? I was thinking about putting in the RS2 turbo and manifold. What kind of power gains with the right software am I looking at? Also, would this be too much stress for a 14 yr old vehicle with 166xxx miles? I'd definitely appreciate any answers here. Feel free to flame me and call me a noob, bc I'm sure I could find this searching forums but I'm tired of trying
Thanks, and I will get some pictures up of her soon

noob
034 makes some hot software loads for the car, which will probably give you the best bang for the buck without turbo swapping (just injectors). Everything beyond software is really a losing battle, that most of us continue to fight on a daily basis... RS2/gt2871r/gt3071r are the three flavors of the month right now. You are looking at around 285/330/346 hp for each option, respectively. The car should be able to handle these fine, but swap your hoses, fix your boost leaks and get an oil analysis done before you start throwing money at the car... oohhh and per noob rules, this is the obligatory part where I tell you to upgrade brakes and suspension first.
I would enjoy it, chip it and just worry about fixing stuff on it, if you plan to use it as a winter beater.

If you are around Denver on Aug 9th, you can get tons of advice, and have some BBQ..
The greater Denver area UrS folks are having a BBQ at my house.

Though seriously, there will be some highly knowledgable people there, and I'll be flipping burgers.

Skip. I think there are better options.
Like VR Life said, and if I had to do it, I would get a 2871 or 3071, injectors, manifold, software and call it a day. Look at 034motorsport.

A little side question...Im somewhat in the same boat as you...
im guessing you would need a better intercooler if you were to get a 2871 or 3071. Or would the stock one be enough?
