Which a car like that needs to be every night anyways... If not, I'll come down there and steal it some night and give it to a more deserving owner (me)...hehehehe
The cowl is super easy to remove. Remove the wiper arms and then there's a few allen bolts that hold it on from under the hood. Viola...
Take care of that soon. A new (used) ECU is still an expensive proposition.
BTW, leaves should never be allowed to get down in there anyways, so if they are, you might want to take careful look at your cowl once it's off. If the screening is broken up like mine was (see below), this allows debris to enter this area. If that's the case, it may be time to replace it with a new one like I did.

My old cowl went in the dumpster!
