Well, my driveshaft has graduated from "occasional clang" to "occasion thump/shudder" =(

Since I'm going to drop my exhaust for the RS2 turbo install, I'm wanting to do some driveline servicing while it's exposed. If that center bearing is so cheap to replace, with the part you mention, why shouldn't I just do it? I have to drop the driveshaft to do that, yes? So, in so doing, I can then clean and lube the holy living **** out of the CV joints on either end, and replace the boots while I'm there.
Good plan/stupid plan/WTF are you thinking plan?

If yours looks solid i'd skip it. I have a Stromumg and can drop the center pipe in 3 minutes. $120 doesn't seem so cheap to me though seeing as some center bearings are like $30

Which, in Audi parlance, is replacing the whole f'in' driveshaft.
How's about the CV joints? Cheap and easy to replace, or not?
I'm just going to clean and grease mine, but will replace if they are clunky.

I replaced them both in my car and they were a fine quality part. The outer cv boot is torn in Stephs avant and I am going to replace it with an Empi also this weekend.
